The Network
This is a network of Macintosh Computers, all of which are strung together via a 1000 base T Ethernet network connection. The computers in this room are able too transfer data at a maximum rate of 1000 megabits per second.
The dominant software that runs this system is Apple’s Remote Desktop, which allows full integration of all computers in this environment to see each other and interact; it also gives a great amount of flexibility for the teacher in the class to interact with students on a ‘peer to peer’ basis. The Windows Network that runs through this entire school is also accessible from this network.
The Hardware
There are 20 Power Mac computers running 2 x 2.66 Ghz, Dual -Core Intel Xeon processors. These computers have a 250 gigabyte hard drive and 1 gigbyte of RAM. All Mac Pro's are equipped with Superdrives.
